Job Title: QA/QC Technician FLSA status: Non-Exempt
Location: Wichita, KS Reports to: Manager(s)

 

POSITION SUMMARY

A QA/QC technician will be responsible for the verification of quality materials on concrete and asphalt projects. ACI Aggregate, Concrete, and KDOT Certification are a plus, but not required!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To be successful in this position the individual must be able to accomplish each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Inspect and test to ensure compliance with required specifications.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with foremen, superintendents, project managers and suppliers.
  • Perform a variety of tasks and duties that may change often as the work conditions require.
  • Work within defined standards of accuracy.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Out of Town Travel is Required.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and pass a driving background check.
  • Must pass Basic Math Test.
  • By 90 days, the employee must pass their KDOT Certification and Nuclear Class Certification.
  • Must pass Aggregate Field Certification as testing becomes available.
  • Utilize the available time to organize and complete all assigned duties and meet deadlines.
  • Must communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
  • Must be dependable and trustworthy.
  • Ability to work overtime and out of town for an extended period.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with excellent safety and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills to work effectively and safely.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, lift, reach above shoulder, kneel, twist, bend, use hands to finger, type, handle or feel, good hearing and vision (both close range and distance with good depth perception).
