Position Summary:
We are seeking an entry level welder to join our team. This position requires a strong dedication to safety, teamwork, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and equipment. This role requires adherence to safety standards and the ability to work in a team environment to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. The welder works collaboratively with the team to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks based on drawings, verbal instructions and project requirements.
- Use MIG, TIG, Stick, and other welding techniques as needed.
- Cut, shape, and join metal materials using torches, saws, and other tools.
- Inspect and ensure welds meet company and industry quality standards.
- Operate shop equipment, such as grinders, drill presses, and plasma cutters.
- Maintain welding tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe working condition.
- Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines, regulations, and company policies.
- Daily inspection of equipment and reporting of any malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Assist with general labor tasks as needed, including site cleanup and material handling.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to perform repetitive work.
- Keep the shop area clean and organized.
- Position assists with repairs, breakdowns, etc.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in OSHA guidelines and MSHA policies and procedures manual.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year experience or achievement of technical certification.
- Knowledge of welding and general mechanics required.
- Must be flexible to work days, nights or occasional weekends.
- Ability to communicate using two-way radios.

Work Environment:
While executing the duties of this job, individuals are consistently exposed to hot/cold temperatures, noise, and welding fumes. Work is regularly performed outside in all weather conditions. Individuals frequently work near moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
