Position Summary:
This position will be the leader of the development and continuous improvement of the company safety culture and values. The Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and environmental standards. This role focuses on minimizing risk, preventing workplace injuries, and promoting safety within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement company-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with all applicable laws and internal company policies.
- Work closely with the management team in formulating safety rules, regulations, policies and
- Develop, manage, and administer the Occupational Safety and Health Program/OSHA.
- Oversee the DOT compliance program, ensuring adherence to FMCSA regulations, driver safety, vehicle inspections, and drug/alcohol testing policies.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections of all sites, offices, and shop
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and update safety documentation, including accident reports, training records, and compliance logs.
- Manage Workers’ Compensation processes including claims management, modified duty program and taking proactive measures to limit injuries.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information, insurance and litigation documents, employee information (wage information, discipline, health information) and other sensitive and confidential

- Continually update knowledge regarding the safety industry or technology

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of knowledge in a safety role or related experience in the construction
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, and environmental safety
- OSHA 10/OSHA 30 Certifications
- Strong communication and leadership skills to promote a safety-first
- Ability to travel to construction sites and conduct on-site evaluations and
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
- Valid driver’s license
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish
