Kurt Cornejo
President – Pearson Construction, LLC
Kurt grew up in the heavy/highway construction industry. He worked for the family business at Cornejo & Sons every summer at a very early age and throughout his college career, developing a working knowledge of the different trades and aspects of the business. After college, Kurt started his career with Cornejo & Sons in 2003. He worked his way up to Vice President of Field Operations before leaving the company in 2013. He served on the board of Wichita Children’s Home from 2008-2013, and has been actively involved in numerous charities since then. In September of 2013, Kurt bought Pearson Excavating, which is now Pearson Construction.
Kurt graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in Business Administration.
Max Beins
Vice President – Pearson Construction, LLC
Max has nearly 40 years of experience in the heavy/highway construction industry. Prior to joining Pearson, Max spent 3 years with Cornejo & Sons and prior to that had 26 years with Wildcat Construction, serving as Executive Vice President. While at Wildcat, Max also started and presided over Wildcat Golf, a full service golf course construction and renovation company. His career has been largely in the State of Kansas, but also has been involved with projects in Colorado, Oklahoma, Missouri and Nebraska.
Max graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in Construction Science.
Rocky Cornejo
Vice President of Field Operations – Pearson Construction, LLC
Rocky grew up working in the heavy/highway construction and demolition industry. He worked for the family business every summer since the sixth grade, where his duties and responsibilities grew from sweeping the shop floor, to operating equipment, and managing crews. Prior to joining Pearson, Rocky’s tenure at Cornejo & Sons began in 1998 until 2014. While at Cornejo, Rocky’s responsibilities varied from managing all facets of Cornejo’s trucking operations as well as managing and performing demolition projects. Rocky’s last assignment for Cornejo was Vice President of Field Operations, managing up to 600 employees.
Kirk Howie
Vice President – Pearson Construction, LLC
Kirk has over twenty five years of experience in the heavy highway construction industry. Prior to joining Pearson, Kirk served as the Vice President of Operation for Cornejo & Sons and held various operational and executive positions within the organization. He most recently was the General Manager of the Aggregate Division that was producing over 2 million tons annually. He has vast experience in operations of C & D Landfills, asphalt plants and recycling facilities.
Kirk graduated from Kansas State University with B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting.
Nathan Adams
Estimator/Project Manager – Pearson Construction, LLC
Nathan has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. In his early years he worked for two of the largest general contractors in Wichita. Starting his career in the field as a field engineer/superintendent then eventually moving into an estimating/project manager roll managing projects from $1M-40M. In 2013 Nathan became estimating manager for a large civil/earthwork/utilities contractor. While assisting in incorporating a new estimating software, he also managed the concrete division of this company building reinforced concrete box bridges. Nathan has estimated and managed many large projects around the area and within the United States.
Nathan graduated from Pittsburg State University with a B.S. in Construction Management.
Brian Boutwell
Estimator/Project Manager – Pearson Construction, LLC
Brian has over 34 years of experience in the civil/heavy highway design and construction industry. Brian previously worked as a Project Manager/Senior Estimator for Cornejo & Sons, after completing 25 years as a Civil Design Engineer & Project Manager for Professional Engineering Consultants. His project experience includes a wide range of highway, airport, subdivision, and site civil projects throughout central Kansas.
Brian graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and holds a current Professional Engineer license in the State of Kansas.
Tyler Stevenson
Estimator/Project Manager – Pearson Construction, LLC
Tyler has over 5 years of experience in the heavy/highway construction industry. Prior to joining Pearson, Tyler spent 4 years with Cornejo & Sons serving as a Project Manager. Through his college years he had numerous internships with Kiewit South Central District, where he worked on projects such as the Huey P. Long Bridge Widening, and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in New Orleans, LA.
Tyler graduated from Pittsburg State University with a B.S. in Construction Management.
